Architect Level III

We are seeking a high-performing Architect Level III with 8-12 years of experience to join our Boston office. This role is ideal for a licensed or licensure-track architect with substantial healthcare design experience, ready to take on significant technical responsibility, collaborate closely with senior leadership, and become a BIM expert within the firm. You will play a crucial role in bringing sophisticated designs to life across our core sectors, from Schematic Design through Construction Administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Senior Project Team members through all phases, from Schematic Design (SD) to Construction Administration (CA).
  • Coordinate complex project information across all disciplines, including consultant coordination.
  • Assist in the development of project specifications and manage all applicable building code and regulatory documentation requirements.
  • Conduct Construction Administration (CA) tasks, including submittal review, RFI processing, and site visits.
  • Serve as an Expert User of Revit, providing advanced technical support for project teams.
  • Mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff on best practices, efficiency, and advanced techniques within the BIM environment.
  • Support business development efforts by assisting in the preparation of compelling proposal and interview materials.
  • Participate in project interviews, presenting the firm’s qualifications and technical approach.
  • Contribute to office-wide Quality Control (QC) initiatives, improving documentation and delivery standards.
  • Provide technical support to the office in the development of standards for project documentation.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education & Licensure

  • Professional Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed Architect preferred – MA Registered or NCARB certification.

Experience

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in an architectural role.
  • Experience with Healthcare projects desired.
  • Proven experience in complex commercial, institutional, or similar project types.

Technical Expertise

  • Expert-level proficiency in Revit.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and visualization software (e.g., 3ds Max, SketchUp).
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) for presentation materials.
  • Competence in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, MS Project).

  • Strong ability to design within client budget constraints.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense to solve problems and make decisions in non-standard situations.
  • Working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes.
  • Understanding of design, materials, and construction types.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate the design intent both graphically and verbally.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required for project needs.
