Giving Back

MP is committed to giving back to the Greater Boston community by promoting a spirit of giving and engagement that extends the core values of our company’s culture into the communities where we live and work. MP organizes volunteer opportunities and projects for employees and encourages them to take action and donate their time and talents in local neighborhoods – striving to make a meaningful impact and create positive changes. The rewarding experience of helping others powers a sense of civic responsibility, strongly supported by the MP culture, and further strengthens the MP team.

Over the years we have supported a number of worthy philanthropic organizations. We encourage you to join us!

For nearly four decades, Heading Home has worked towards ending homelessness in Greater Boston, providing housing and support services to low-income homeless and formerly homeless families. MP has partnered with Heading Home for years: in addition to principal Marc Margulies serving on the Board of Directors, MP helped renovate and reconstruct the McKay House and Duley House in Cambridge, led several Up & Out moves (most recently in January 2019), and included them in our 25th anniversary celebration in 2013 and our 30th anniversary celebration in 2018. You can find out more about Heading Home on their website, including a number of different ways you can help them with their life-changing mission.

With 30 houses created over 30 years, Caritas Communities prides itself on preventing homelessness and improving lives, one room at a time. Their efforts have improved thousands of lives, and we have been proud to support them. In 2015, MPA principal Marc Margulies and his wife Anne were honored to receive the P. Leo Corcoran Humanitarian Award in recognition of their extensive work and efforts to eradicate homelessness. You can find out more about Caritas Communities on their website, and be sure to check out the inspiring video created for the 2015 dinner telling the story of four Caritas residents.

United Way works with communities nation-wide to build better lives by preparing children to learn, supporting youth in school, lifting families from poverty, and leading social innovation. MPA has been a proud supporter of United Way for many years; we believe in helping our community evolve into a stronger, safer, happier, more fulfilling place for everyone. Find out more on United Way’s website – there are many ways to get involved.

Toys for Tots provides toys, books, and other gifts to less fortunate children every holiday season. In addition to gathering lots of toys, participants also compete to have the best-decorated toy bin. (We won in 2015 with our Duck Boat themed bin!) You can find more information on your local chapter on Toys for Tots’ website.
